Terre Rouge & Easton Wines are located on the West Slope of the Sierra Nevada in Amador County’s Shenandoah Valley, California and their wines are made from vineyards in four Sierra Foothill counties: Placer, El Dorado, Amador, and Calaveras. President and Winemaker Bill Easton has been in the wine trade for over 30 years, not only as a winemaker, wine retailer, importer, and vineyard consultant but also as a steward of sustainable farming practices.

Part of the environmentally conscious practices, going solar was “the natural next step” for the winery. Premier Power designed, engineered and installed the solar system on the roof of the main winery building to seamlessly blend in with the surroundings, without taking away any valuable land or interrupting the daily operation of the winery.

With the new solar system, Terre Rouge & Easton Wines received over $44,000 from government incentives and rebates, which equated to over half of the system cost. Although electric rates in California have been increasing 6.7%* annually for the past 25 years, Terre Rouge & Easton Wines will enjoy over 25 years of peace of mind by not worrying about rising energy costs. “Instead of $500 electric bill, our first solar electric bill was $11.24” said Bill Easton.
