The 86kW solar power installation is located on the roof of Sierra Pacific Power's Transportation Services Building in Reno, Nevada.

Premier Power designed, engineered and installed the 86kW ballasted roof-mount system, featuring 410, 210 watt SunPower solar power modules, making this installation one of the largest in northern Nevada.
Premier Power chose to use the SunPower 210 watt solar panel for two reasons: industry leading panel efficiency and footprint. The solar power module selection was critical to the roof load assessment - incorporating the varying snow load. This allowed Premier Power to maximize the system size without adding an excessive amount of weight to the roof structure.
"The Sierra Pacific Power project is a unique installation… the solar power system is mounted using a non-penetrating ballasted tray system, wherein trays are laid flat against the roof and weighed down with concrete blocks," explains Ken Baker, Director of Engineering for Premier Power.
